   The Best times for BC salmon fishing on the west coast is Between May 1-Sept 15, with June to Sept being the best. If you're looking to take some Tyee Chinook salmon (30 lb plus) then 1st of August to Sept would be best.

    BC salmon fishing Charters are in high demand during the prime months, May thru September, reservations are highly recommended. Most of our regular salmon fishing clients book for the following year after they finish their current BC salmon fishing charter, for new comers we recommend at least six months advance booking.

    During the prime season, May - September, you can expect to catch salmon, halibut and bottom fish. Chinook (king) salmon and Coho (Silvers) salmon being the most common type of salmon encountered throughout the summer. There are times when a run of Sockeye come through and with luck we will encounter some of these beauties. Chum and Pinks are also available but not the main target. Halibut fishing really heats up about the middle of May and usually stays strong through to September, peaking in July and August.

    Presently the bag limit for BC salmon and halibut are 2 Chinook salmon, 2 Coho salmon and 1 halibut per person per day. The possession limit (meaning the amount of fish you can have in your possession while traveling home or from a fishing expedition) is 4 Chinook , 4 Coho, 2 Halibut. Albion charters is an ethical operation and strictly adheres to the limits .

    Every person that goes Salmon fishing, Halibut fishing, or any kind of fishing in BC must have a current fishing license. You can buy them locally in most sporting good shops or marinas in BC. You can also get them online here.

    Albion charters has your comfort and safety in mind, we take 4 people maximum on salmon and halibut fishing charters, we fish 2 rods from down riggers at a time for salmon and each person can have a rod when halibut fishing.

    West coast salmon fishing and in particular Ucluelet is better then any other place on the BC coast hands down. Albion salmon fishing charters has been fishing the BC waters for over 30 years and has seen the other popular areas loose there appeal do to over fishing and poor fishery management. The BC west coast salmon fishery is still very strong due to its remoteness and challenging conditions. The west coast is also one of the most densely populated areas for salmon returning to the Barkley sound river systems as well as millions of fish migrating up and down the BC west coast, its basically a fish highway out here.

   If you would like your catch, smoked, canned or vacuum packed, there are local drop off areas for shipping it to St Jean's. They do an excellent job and will ship your finished product on to your home.

     If the weather becomes to uncomfortable to fish the offshore areas of Ucluelet, we usually will head up into the sheltered waters of Barkley sound, this will still produce good salmon fishing results on most occasions, not to mention you will see some of the most stunning scenery in the world.

    Some people are prone to motion sickness, if you know you are then prepare yourself with the proper medication, Gravol works fine for most people and allows you to enjoy your salmon fishing time without feeling bad. If you're not sure you will get motion sickness its best to bring some meds to be safe. They must be taken at least 45-60 minutes before venturing out on the water.

Boredom is just not an option here.
